DJ Lady D's quarterly Smart Bar event is on tomorrow night at Smart Bar. After a fantastic 1st showing with Stacey Pullen, she has invited Detroit's Monty Luke (Planet e) to get in on that D3 vibe for his 1st appearance in Chicago!

D3 (Discover Deconstruct Detroit) is not only a fusion of house and techno but a meeting of art, fashion & music as well. D'lectable Music along with VOLATL events have partnered with ArtKiwon a contemporary arts group to bring a decidedly unique artistry to the events with live painting, live fashion and art installations in the club environment for total transformation of Chicago's most famous venue, Smart Bar.

Carl Craig's planet e wunderkind Monty Luke has been enjoying his stint as planet e label manager and his worldwide travels playing right alongside Carl from Miami to the UK. Opening the evening is Paris to Chicago transplant, Frederick Zahm, co-founder ofSouvenir--the highly followed Chicago underground techno event group.

04.14.09 | Lady D Launches D'lectable 2.0
DJ Lady D (Darlene Jackson), launched the second coming of her record label, D'lectable Music, with partner Steve Koutso at a rocking party at Chicago's Boom Boom Room (@Green Dolphin) Monday night, April 13. Luminaries from Chicago's popular House music community were all in attendance to show their pride and support for one of their own. The party was a celebration for the first release from D'lectable Music since '07, thanks to a new distribution deal with Fine Tunes. The entire night was filmed and will become a short video for online viewing. Her set was also recorded--look for that download soon!

The first release on D'lectable, "Lady D presents NICK MAURER: Beautiful Person" will be available for download at your favorite download sites in May. Check www.iLoveDmusic.com for more details.

The April podcast is up and will soon be available for download at Itunes. This is a LIVE set of DJ Lady D recorded at an urban rave event in late February. The guys who simulcast it that night, also captured the stream and this is what went out over the web as well as the event's speakers!!! "Beautiful Person" is an eloquent story of love from one soul to another, sung as only Nick can fashion. First class remixes from DJ Sneak, Wally Callerio and Nick himself make this the next fine release in the "Lady D Presents" series to come out for D'lectable.

Lady D has been giving Sneak's mix the rounds for a minute now to ridiculous effect and you best be sure these bangers will stay in the crate for months to come. Keep an open ear for this tune!
